Soulja Boy was taken into police custody for a probation violation following a hearing on Thursday (April 11), and just days later, his Los Angeles-area home was robbed. A
According to a new report TMZ published Wednesday (April 17), Soulja’s home was hit on Monday (April 15), and the burglars made off with over $500,000 worth of jewelry and personal items.
The celebrity news site reports that a caretaker for Soulja’s home called police on Monday night to report the robbery, and said on top of the chains, earrings and watches that were stolen, the thieves also cleaned out his safe—which held $100,000 in cash. They reportedly stole his cell phone as well, which is likely how the rapper’s Instagram was hacked on the same night that the robbery was reported.
On Monday night, a man and a woman went live from Soulja Boy’s Instagram account, claiming they’d retrieved his login information and demanded at least $1,000 to give it back to him. Sources at TMZ report that police say more men went live from the account a second time, claiming that they were the ones to rob the rapper’s home. They’ve also reportedly been sending DMs to Soulja’s famous friends and telling them that they’re his new artists and that Soulja wants their music video posted on the pages. They’ve also been “hounding them” for features.
Police believe these men are their burglary suspects and are investigating.
